Our Approach

What makes us different?

A lot of dance schools aren’t run by teachers who have Kate's extensive background. Not only was she professionally trained at the Urdang Academy, which is a prestigious school in London, but she also has a degree and a PGCE. She has gained a wealth of experience working in a mainstream secondary school as well as private dance schools.

At Ingram Academy we provide the students with a lot of opportunities as Kate is ambitious and extremely passionate about what she does. Due to her experience and training she can guide people in the right direction and offer genuine advice.

Junior Associates at the Royal Ballet

Darcie has been at the Academy for roughly four years and when she started she was painfully shy. I noticed that she had something special and I encouraged her mom to enter her for the audition for the Junior Associates at the Royal Ballet. She successfully got an audition and there were girls there who had tried for four times but had been unsuccessful. This was Darcies first audition and she gained a place.

Darcie trains at the Royal Ballet on a Saturday throughout the year and gets the opportunity to do workshops at the Royal Ballet in London, with professional dancers. I am going to watch her in one of her lessons on 22nd April.

Birmingham Royal Ballet

We also have a students in the Birmingham Royal Ballet, Lia Paskin who was successful in gaining a place to perform in a production called Cinderella Dreams! The performance will be on Monday 20th February at the Birmingham hippodrome. Lia went through a couple of grueling stages of auditions to gain her place.

Smile for Joel

Ingram Academy were asked to perform at a huge Smile for Joel event at Sandwell Valley by Suzanne Evans who tragically lost her son Joel, her brother and her father in the Tunisia terror attacks in June 2015. We were absolutely honoured to be part of such an event.

Festivals and Competitions

We do a number of festivals over the year in Tamworth, Birmingham, Walsall and Wrekin. We take large groups, however we can also enter children into solo or duets. Every year we enter can you dance, one of the biggest dance conventions in the country. In November 2017 we will be dancing at Saddlers Wells in London, taking part in Mardi Gras, where we have to take forty dancers and have two routines. In the past we have performed at Her Majesty’s Theatre and Saddlers Wells in London with Mardi Gras.

We applied for BGT (Britains got Talent) with our dance Bring Me to Life and were lucky enough to meet Simon and get a 'Yes' to go through to the next stage. Our journey on BGT finished during the next round. The girls absolutely loved the experience, and it was fun trying to spot ourselves on TV every Saturday night!

"My sister loves it at Ingram's, been there less than a year and already done so much! And she is improving so so much, brilliant! And all the dancers are fantastic! Big thank you to Kate and Tim for all that they do."

Are you ready to become a dancer?

We offer a range of professional dance lessons for children between 18 months and 19 years of age.
